Chardonnay (King Chard)
Chardonnay (King Chard)
King Chardonnay
William Lonsdale
Chardonnay's rise in Burgundy is largely attributed to the Queen and the wife of Emperor Charlemagne. She was so fed up with the red wine stains in her husband's white beard that she demanded that white grapes be cultivated on their estate (now known as Corton-Charlemagne) so he could drink white wine and maintain a pristine beard.
This print is sold unframed.
